A Shout Out of THANKS

About a month ago, after we had gotten renters and the financial burden started to lift, I had decided to praise the Lord with the "extra" he had blessed us with. I thought this had been understood by my husband. But when he looked at the bank statement and shouted "What have you done?" I realized we were not on the same page.
I offered him my sincere appology, and being the wonderfully gracious husband that he is, he forgave me quickly. I asked the Lord to hear my heart of thanksgiving and also distress at failing my husband. I asked that if He was pleased with my offering, to please supply what my husband thought was lost! The next week my grandmother offered to pay for our reservation fees for the reunion, and our check was returned to us (Blessing #1). A letter came in the mail that said we had a rebate for a cell phone that we have never cashed. They were willing to reissue the check, if we notarized and returned the letter (Blessing #2). Today, Steve got the mail, and sorted through it while I was doing dishes. He asked for a butter knife, I handed it to him, and went back to my work. His voice changed to surprise, "What is this?" I looked up to see him pull 3 $100 bills out of the envelope(Blessing #3)! An envelope with our names typed on paper and folded to hold the money, then our return address! Post marked Bakersfield and Mojave. No note or anything! Simply God hearing and supplying.
I've heard of this type of thing happening, but it sure is an incredible feeling to know God loves you and that someone else was so obedient!
I love you Lord!

Cousins visit

Brock, came the first week of June to visit us with his mommy.

Luke, came last week with his mommy and daddy for a visit.
We haven't seen these little guys since Christmas. It is so fun to see how they have grown and begin to see their lively sides :)!

Bethany the Rock Wall Climber

We had a great reunion with our large extended family about 2 weeks ago. Bethany braved the rock wall, it was amazing, I really didn't think she could do it! But she proved me wrong!

6 YEARS OLD

From sun-up to sun-down this girl has had a fun day! Her first "party"- "GIRLS ONLY! (except Aaron doesn' t count because he's a baby)."

Water slides, trampolines, painting, hotdogs and FRITOS (most importantly FRITOS :)!), rootbeer floats, and a pinata.

She wanted a fire breathing dragon this year on her cake :)

Her friends knew just what to get her, drawing supplies! She has been busy all afternoon. The dinos will be in the mail as thank you's tomarrow. :)

Boy, I am so NOT technological!

I cannot link video to the blog for anything! Any tips?

Freedom

Over the past few weeks I have been experiencing the presence of the Lord, numerous times a day! Most of these times have been very convicting, and yet very healing. I felt like the Lord had set me free from a lot of bondage that I had placed in my life: by my own ideas of God, expectations I have placed on myself, and personal desires.
In the midst of my newly found freedom, I had a weekend of work scheduled. I had a full day on Sat. and didn't get all of my paperwork done. Sun. morning came, and I had a full afternoon of visits, and a birthday party. How was I going to get that paperwork done, and go to church? I really wanted to join the Sunday School class, and I knew they were watching a video series that traveled through Israel. I told myself, that I was "free" to combine the two. I went and did get quite a bit done, and learned some things from the video. I felt good: free!

But in the days to follow, the Lord had more to teach me. :) I recalled that as I freely sat, doing my own thing, that others in the room were distracted by my actions. The Lord brought this to my mind
1 Cor 8:9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
I stood convicted again. My failure to recognize the needs of others, yet again!! I know what I am going to do the next time this may happen. I plan to make a slight interuption in the status quo of Sunday School, to ask if anyone would be bothered if I did some necessary paperwork while the video plays. I can be sensitive to the needs of others over myself, even though really I am free to do it.

I need a plumber

I married a truly handy guy, but he is not a plumber. I have 2 problem toilets, 1 won't stop running, the other won't fill after flushing! This is an entirely random post, but I need a reminder to call the plumber! :)
